I don't think it would be considered mass media but I've heard Antwerp's Placebo on elevators at 4 star hotels on several occasions

wow, now that is an obscure tune! Almost every Ak Air flight I take, they play Box of Rain before takeoff.

I screwed it up - it was Eep Hour. I thought the tune b4 To Lay Me Down on Jers first album was the Antwerps one - where is the Antwerps one?

It's the short percussion thing on Go to Heaven. Eep hour is real obscure too. I always get a kick when I hear obscure stuff thrown into muzack or whatever.

Muzack is where they take what is ordinarily a harmless tune like James taylor Beatles or Simon and Garfunkle and wimp it down even more by taking the vocals and having violins and session musicians. It's the sterotype of elevator music although I hear regular tunes getting played overhead these days
